Within 12 months, a zeppelin will fly above the Waddenzee. The purpose of this experimental project is to see if ecotourism is possible in a responsible manner above the Waddenzee. By the end of 2006 the request for license has been handed in. A positive answer was received recently. Unmanned Zeppelins (UAV) on tour A development which started several years ago has arrived at a crucial stage; the final delivery of unmanned zeppelins with onboard cameras. The zeppelins which are being designed and constructed in a unique manner, are the first of their kind in Dutch aviation. This 'state of the art' platform can execute missions autonomously. Variants can be controlled via line of sight, and from behind a computer display. The zeppelin can fulfill several roles such as surveillance and environmental monitoring, in addition to advertising and television recordings.
